"Bringing deep learning to the deep spectrum"

Hello and welcome!

I'm Aditya Dixit, a Postdoctoral Researcher at Aalborg University, Denmark, where I work with Prof. Israel Leyva-Mayorga. My current postdoctoral research focuses on AI-powered semantic earth observation data compression, with an emphasis on developing intelligent and data-efficient approaches for processing and transmitting Earth observation data. This work brings together Deep Learning (DL), Computer Vision (CV), Remote Sensing (RS), and Hyperspectral Imaging (HSI) to develop AI-driven solutions for next-generation Earth observation systems.

I completed my Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore, under the guidance of Dr. Puneet Gupta. During my doctoral research, I worked at the intersection of DL, CV, RS, and HSI, with a particular focus on developing advanced AI methods for hyperspectral image analysis and Earth observation applications. During my Ph.D., my research focused on hyperspectral image denoising, spatial-spectral representation learning, methane plume segmentation, and remote sensing image analysis. My work has resulted in publications in leading journals and conferences, including IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, ISPRS Journal of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement (TIM), and Winter Conference on Applications of Computer Vision (WACV). I have also been recognized as an Outstanding Reviewer multiple times by IEEE TIM in 2024 and 2025, and received an Outstanding Reviewer Award from European Conference on Computer Vision (ECCV) 2026.

Before joining IIT Indore, I completed my B.Tech. in CSE from Government Engineering College Jhalawar, Rajasthan. Over the years, I have developed a strong passion for research-oriented problem solving and interdisciplinary collaboration. I enjoy exploring challenging research problems, developing innovative AI solutions, and translating computational methods into practical applications.

Beyond research, I enjoy contributing to the academic community through peer reviewing and mentoring students. Outside academia, I enjoy travelling, playing chess, following cricket, reading, and listening to music.

Thank you for visiting my profile. I am always open to research collaborations, academic discussions, and opportunities to work on exciting problems in AI, remote sensing, computer vision, Earth observation, and intelligent data processing.
